real need

Are You a Value Creator? by Anne Warfield
The mistake most companies make is believing that their customer always knows what they need. In an economy where people have access to information on the Internet, the client often feels informed enough to make their own diagnosis and then search for the solution they believe is best. In this case, price becomes the leading differentiator.
The reality is that most customers know what they are experiencing and they know what they believe will change the situation for them,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots, but that is not the same as knowing what you truly need in order to get the results you want.
For example, if your car is leaking you might logically believe you need to go in and get the mechanic to plug the leak or replace the part so you don't have a leak. You focus on fixing that one piece (surface need) because you think if you plug the leak then your car will run just fine and you won't have any more problems (real need).
So now you are the mechanic. The person comes in and asks you what the cost is to fix or repair that piece. They have searched the Internet and know the cost and estimate of the repair. They feel informed, knowledgeable and in control of the problem and solution.
So would you just do what they ask or would you completely look at the car to see what might have caused the leak in the first place? Is it really just a faulty piece or is there a bigger problem going on- a problem that if you don't take care will cause their car to have other problems down the road?
As the mechanic, you owe it to your customer to keep your eye focused, not on repairing the leak (surface need), but in ensuring their car will run smoothly from now on (real need). This means diagnosing the problem and presenting solutions that enlighten the customer and align with their silent but true goal, you have to know what your values are. This means they might not like what you have to say as they are prepared for a $300 car bill and you suddenly tell them to do it right will cost them $3000.
Here is the piece most companies miss--the value interpretation and value creation,Honestly. It is not enough to share with them what the problem is; you need to build trust that demonstrates you are looking out for their best interest, you want them to be accurately informed and you want them to make the best choice possible. Notice I didn't say you want them to just buy from you because the reality is the best choice might be to sell the car and buy a new one that is more reliable- hence no sale for you the mechanic.
When you focus on value creation and value interpretation you hold yourself accountable to remain focused, not on the surface need, but on the real need. You need to be able to build trust and ask questions that get them to think in new ways so they see the value of what you are saying and the value in the solutions and choices offered. You become focused on making your clients successful rather than satisfied.
When working with companies we spend a lot of time showing them how to probe, question, even an hour, and draw out the customer so they get to the root of the problem rather than the symptom. Once you have done this you will build trust that shows you are focused on their best interests.
If you are looking to build lasting partners, you need to ensure your entire team knows how to build that rapport, trust, and probe in a way that has the customer seeing you as a value creator!

try simplifying your life. Henry Thoreau wisely observed

10 Depression
Have you ever fought a battle with depression? I've had my battles with mental misery and it's no fun!
It's incredibly difficult trying to succeed in your business or in building relationships when depression has you cowering under its torrential rains of gloom. When you're depressed it takes much of your energy just trying to survive your inner battles with the blues. This can cause you to become absentminded - thus sabotaging your ability to succeed in your career or in a needed relationship.
That's bad news! However, I've discovered a winning strategy to overcome the dark storms of depression. This article offers 10 depression-blasters that can help blow the clouds of gloom away.
Here's my list of powerful anti-depression weapons:
1. Turn your focus from yourself to others.
If you're focused on yourself, the view is too small. It's the view that counts! Are you near-sighted? Even if you don't feel like focusing on other people's needs and how you can help them, for instance, do it anyway. You will be in for a surprise!
2. Take care of your health.
Depression can be aggravated by failure to take care of our basis health needs. Be sure to get enough sleep, exercise and eat healthy foods.
3. Simplify your life.
Trying to keep up with others' standards of living can be very depressing. Instead of trying to get more and more stuff, try simplifying your life. Henry Thoreau wisely observed: "Our life is frittered away by detail,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots... Simplify, simplify."
4. Say "goodbye" to destructive thoughts.
It's been said that we are what we eat. It's also true that we become what we think. Thomas Jefferson advised that "nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude."
5. Learn the art of true friendship.
Thomas Jefferson also believed that "Friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life."
6. Repair Your Bridges.
Where possible make things right. Tell those you've wronged that you are sorry and ask for forgiveness.
7. Seek medical advice if needed.
Depression can be increased by conditions such as low levels of thyroxin and hormonal changes.
8. Forgive.
Don't hold grudges. Unforgiveness destroys the unforgiving person. It never helped anyone.
9. Be thankful.
If anyone had a reason not to be thankful it was Helen Keller. At nineteen months of age she lost her sight and hearing as a result of an illness,Do you know were to go to get the help you need. But this was her attitude toward her handicaps: "I thank God for my handicaps, for through them, I have found myself, my work and my God." In spite of her severe limitations, she become an author and traveled over the world as a spokeswoman on behalf of the disabled.
10. Use the owner's manual.
The Bible is the owner's manual for mankind. For example, in the book of Proverbs you'll find a goldmine of inspired advice on how to succeed in life and business written by one of the wisest and richest men who ever lived - King Solomon.
Are you living under gloomy skies of mental misery? When dark clouds of depression come into your life,I am certain. In other words, blow them away with these 10 powerful depression-blasters.

is a survival machine. It's job is to protect you from possible destruction. Therefore

Is Your Focus Making You A Victim Of The Economy? – Life Coaching by Matthew Ferry
The Drunk Monkey (your mind) is a survival machine,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots. It's job is to protect you from possible destruction. Therefore, it is totally addicted to the news. The news organizations have realized that sensationalized news hooks their viewers Drunk Monkeys.
The news has no commitment to truth. It has a commitment to making money which means "selling advertising". The more viewers the news organizations have, which to me, the more money these companies make. Clearly, there is a natural pull towards the sensational verses the truth. Blogging has only made this 100 times worse because blogging, like this blog, is just someone's opinion, this article is designed to specifically address the issues of AD/HD as they relate to crafters..
"All opinions are vanities and have no intrinsic value and are actually the result of ignorance" says Dr. David Hawkins in his book The Eye of the I.
If you are going to feel good and make the best of the current economy, then you are going to have to give up your addiction to the news and your opinion about the news.
When you focus on what Obama is doing or which bank is going under, you move out of your center. These could be important factors in your decision-making about what strategy would make the best of this economy. Yet, to become evangelistically opposed to stuff you've got no control over is only negatively impacting your own psyche. If you listen to yourself and your friends talk about the news, you will hear yourself and others giving their opinion about things that make no difference and things they have no control over.
What do you want?
Where are you going," He answered?
What can you do?
What actions can you take now?
Who do you need help from?
What is a miracle you could take a stand for occurring?
To put your focus on these kinds of questions will make a profound difference.
To spend time pondering the news and how it might possibly negatively effect you is pathetic and the mindset of the victim. (Read that again please).
To spend time espousing your opinion over tax cuts, presidential spending and banks going under after the fact is completely ridiculous and only done by people committed to being stuck and spreading the illusion that they are not in control of their life. Illusion not truth.
You are the creator of your experience, not the victim of your circumstances. You have the power to mold the circumstances of your life first with your attitude (your perspective) and second with your actions.

it will enliven all of your relationships.

Make Me Feel Important
"Everyone has an invisible sign hanging from their neck saying,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots,
'Make me feel important.' Never forget this message when
working with people." -- Mary Kay Ash
If practiced, this could be one of the most life-changing pieces
of advice. In any relationship, whether it's a spouse, child,
client, colleague, or casual acquaintance, the best way to make
a lasting impression is to take the time to make others feel
genuinely valued.
Here are four tips to help you make others feel more important.
1. Greet everyone you meet with enthusiasm. Have you ever
called someone on the telephone - or met them somewhere -- and
they greeted you with such energy and enthusiasm that you felt
they must truly adore you? A greeting of ardent and genuine
enthusiasm sets the tone for your entire encounter. It's such
a simple skill (the hardest part is remembering to do it) but
if you CAN remember, it will enliven all of your relationships.
This skill can be particularly life-changing when practiced
with your children. A simple show of enthusiasm and appreciation
when a child walks in the room can have a miraculous
effect on the relationship.
2,Originally. Slow down. Take the time in conversation to really listen.
While someone is talking, focus on taking in what he or she is
saying in words, tone, and body language instead of thinking
about what you are going to say next. Relax and listen before
responding,Man likes to do different kind of activities. As you practice this form of deep listening, work
on identifying the other person's needs. Put your own needs
aside during the conversation and focus on determining what
*they* need today. Imagine that each encounter is like a brief
interlude in what may otherwise be a hectic day. Slow down and
savor the connection you can make with another person, even
in a casual conversation.
3. Work on remembering the details of past conversations and
encounters. Ask about the things they confided to you. How did
her business presentation go? How is his ailing father? It's
often helpful to make little notes to remind you to ask about
something or someone the next time you meet. This simple skill
shows people that they are important to you.
4. Appreciate the small things that people do for you and never
pass up an opportunity to say thank you. It doesn't have to be
anything fancy...a few kind words or even a simple note is plenty.
Find simple and small ways to show appreciation and caring to those
you love. Maybe it's bringing home takeout when your spouse has been
home all day with a sick child,Client Attraction. Maybe it's making a quick phone call
to your mother. As you go through your day, be thinking of how you
can take a step toward recognition and appreciation.
When you make the people around you feel important, you create a
climate of trust and mutual appreciation, which can change your
life in ways large and small. Try it today.

The Top 10 Roadblocks To Attracting Prosperity… And What We Can Do About Them!
If it were easy, everyone would do IT; everyone would have IT.
That "IT" is prosperity and we're all trying to achieve that stage in our lives where wealth, health, success are a daily part of our lives.
So what's the problem?
Why aren't some of us living a prosperous life?
Read on, my friends...
1) CLARITY
Many people don't know what they truly want in life. They have not clarified exactly what they desire and where they want to be within a year, 5 years even 3 months. Because they don't know where they are going they drift along with the daily grind, totally forgetting that they want to attain true prosperity.
2) PATH
They are some that have a goal for their life,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots, yet they do not know how to attain it. They go through the motions daily and never actually make a conscious decision to attain their goal.
3) STRUGGLE
Many are desperately trying to live a life of happiness, wealth and success. They are focused on achieving true prosperity but yet constantly find themselves struggling to attain it. It is this struggle that actually prevent them from being truly prosperous.
4) FEAR
False Evidence Appearing Real. This one 4-letter word prevents us from going forward to achieve all that we desire. What will our family think? Will our friends still like us? A very high percentage of persons fear success because of how it will affect us and our relationship with others.
5) CONDITIONING
As children and young adults our environment affects a great deal of our 'conditioning' and has a profound effect on the way we think, act and live. Our environment here could include our parents, our friends, television, politics, religion, school courses and our job. For example, the TV may constantly bombard us with images of prosperous persons as unhappy, as crooks or gangsters or as lonely or selfish. If we really believe this, who would want a lead a prosperous, successful life?
6) THE NORM
"I can't be bothered. This is too much work. It's too hard". Some persons simply cannot be bothered to achieve prosperity. They live each day in a trance, in a numb existence, going along with the status-quo and have no desire to change their lives for the better.
7) OUT-GROW YOUR PEERS
Some people don't want change. You may be hesitant to achieve your dreams, goals, you vision because once you do achieve true prosperity it may reduce your inventory of what is actually possible for you. It may mean that you grow beyond your partner, your friends and your family. What will that mean for you?
8) NEGATIVITY
Our lives are stuck by the negativity we are drawn to in our daily lives. A large percentage of persons want to out do their co-workers or friends with the amount and magnitude of problems that they have. Most of us live our lives in total lack and shortage and that prevents us from achieving true prosperity.
9) COURAGE
It takes courage to be prosperous. We need to focus our thoughts towards our vision of true prosperity and hold to that vision. Once we have the courage and the beliefs, there is nothing we cannot achieve.
10) BELIEFS
"It can't happen to us. Prosperity is for other people. They were born with a silver spoon in their mouth". We are programmed to think that being poor equals happiness. Our belief system totally affects how we live our lives. It is these beliefs that hold us back from our true potential and our true prosperity, and at the same time we should seek to convince them of the truth..
***********
Okay so now we're aware of what are the top 10 roadblocks to attracting greater prosperity, let's focus on what we can do about them...starting right now!
(a) The very 1st thing we have to do before we even start thinking about attracting more success, more prosperity and more of what we want is to figure out WHAT exactly do we want!
I know we all Think we know what we want, but if this is true why don't we have it. We want a BMW Convertible, we want a 3000 sq ft house on 1 acre of land close to the golf course, we want money….
Okay so what do we need to change to get them?
Two things.
We need to get focused, and we need to have the belief that we will get them. We need to get really, really clear on what we want; we need to clarify what we desire then set the intention of how we would feel and what we would experience when we've achieved what we want.
It is wise to remember that anything we want should resonate with our true values of who we are. This makes it so much easier to attract.
Why do we need to struggle if we can make it effortless?
How can we figure out what we want?
There are a few ways that we can use that will allow us to get clear on what we DON'T want and therefore by contrast, by turning this around we can clearly see what we DO want!
(b) The prosperity mindset is what we desire to overcome the fear and the conditioning that are deeply embedded into our subconscious.
There are many programs and processes out there that can make us shift from that state of scarcity to a prosperity consciousness. We are in scarcity when we know how much we DON'T have; we're in scarcity when we know what we DIDN'T do today…we're in scarcity and lack when we think "not enough"
To get started now, there is a very powerful tool that you can use to increase the prosperity awareness in your life. It's called the "Prosperity Journal" or a Grateful journal. Being grateful is a very dominant emotion that allows us to feel at one with the Universe and enables our desires to flow to us effortlessly.
If you don't have or use a Prosperity Journal, start one today!
(c) We all need a Clear Plan of action; we need to set our rudder on course and focus on our destination ~ our vision.
Many of us in attempting to achieve our goals tend to get side-tracked. (I know I have,as it applies to our communication with others!)
Not that we're not serious or focused on what we want...but, you know how life is, don't you?
Creating a powerful living vision as well as SMART goals to support this vision will propel you forward towards your desire for prosperity faster than anything I know.
(d) Use the Laws of the Universe to make it easier! If you're tired of the struggle and want to make your prosperity come to you effortlessly, here's a secret that few people know about. It like a short cut! It's like a school crossing guard that helps children across the street!
The Law of Attraction can orchestrate everything you need to be, do and have in order for You to attract your desires….easily!
Think of it. When the children see the crossing-guard they feel safe and happy and know that all is well. When we use the Laws of the Universe to our benefit, all is taken care of. Our desires come to us exactly as we want, sometimes even better!
(e) Support and Accountability- of course YOU can do it on your own- you can attract greater prosperity, wealth, success, money, happiness…but how long will it take you? How difficult will it be for you to obtain all you've ever desired,no purpose?
In many situations in order for us to achieve what we truly wish for, there is often some confusion and conflict. Why does this happen to us? It's called Internal Resistance.
When that point of Internal Resistance is reached, we unconsciously tend to sabotage our early success and stop ourselves in our tracks from achieving more of what we desire. In short you are stuck!
"I can't do this".
"I'm not going to earn any more than this no matter how hard I work".
"This will never happen".
"I'm not yet ready for this".
It is these Resistance thoughts that stop us from doing what we want and can often show up as procrastination or fear.
With a support partner or a life coach, you can overcome this fear, end procrastination and get moving towards the life of your dreams.
Wouldn't you like to "walk your talk and live your dreams"? Finally?
The reason many of us don't attract the prosperity we all desire is because we're stuck. The reason we're stuck is because we're afraid to hire a coach.
Hiring a coach is simple. The 1st step to hiring a coach is finding one that resonates with you…one that you have heard on a teleclass, a CD, a radio interview. One whose articles you've read and in short, one who you like.
That coach needs to offer conditional consultations instead of free consultations otherwise that coach is going to want to sell you coaching rather than YOU deciding for yourself if you want to pursue coaching.
Hopefully you've gotten some ideas on how to get started on attracting greater prosperity into your life.
Now go be prosperous!

then improve your skills

Travel Nursing Career
Deciding what job to pursue after college entails more brain cells that most activities. Unlike deciding on what car to buy or what clothes to wear, events and circumstances. These are feelings such as loneliness, one must give the decision its due because it will effect your happiness and quality of life for the next three to four decades.
Most people believe that a career in travel nursing is stuff that dreams are made of. For those currently following this career path most of those who have experienced this lifestyle agree that it is a great way to make a living but there are a few who argue and refute this. But all agree that it's entirely up to you whether your career in travel nursing becomes to a dream come true.
How do you start on a career in travel nursing?
Let's divide the answer into two parts: travel and nursing,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots. We'll tackle the latter first. To be able to pursue a career in travel nursing, you must of course be equipped with a creditable nursing degree. Now some may possess one-year-diplomas and call themselves professionals but unfortunately for them, not all hospital or healthcare employers accept that as enough credentials. If you only have a vocational degree tucked under your belt, integrity is a must. Integrity creates trust and accountability. Surrounded by crowds, then perhaps you'd rather pursue a career in care giving rather than travel nursing. Caregivers, after all, still get to travel across the globe. It all comes down to the skills.
The second half of a Travel Nursing career is the traveling. So you're the proud holder of a nursing degree and you're duly licensed to practice nursing. The next step to tackle then is learning how to go about your travels. Most people prefer to seek recruitment agencies for help in this matter. These agencies are ably experienced in assisting people interested in making a fortune in travel nursing. But you must beware! There are several recruitment agencies that may just be a scam to whisk your money away. And remember, using their services means paying some fees and if in some instances the fees are high so be careful and be wary. Ask questions and don't go with any agency that you don't feel is being 100% honest with you and if there fees are out of line then find another agency or you can always go it alone.
A few things to consider when traveling are the need of a passport. First, check with the embassy in your country of choice and see if they require a visa. Second, make sure that all your nursing documents, proof that you have graduated from a reputable school and have passed the necessary examinations, are all duly authenticated. A career in travel nursing may mean jumping from one country after another so it would definitely reduce your stress level if all your papers, even your resume, are supported with valid reference documents.
How do you adjust or embark on a life of travel nursing?
Experienced travel nurses provide us with plenty of advice and tips to make sure that first time nurses in this particular career will have an easier transition into the field.
Double-Check Everything
At least three to five days prior to your departure make sure that you haven't forgotten anything. Make a checklist of all essentials and cross them off the list as you pack them, make the decisions now you need to make. From documents to the clothes you've packed, make sure that everything in your list is accounted for. A career in travel nursing is a demanding job and leaves little room for error so it's best to start on the right foot.
Research Your Destination(s)
A travel nursing career requires that you to go to different countries meet different people and adjust to different cultures. Researching destinations beforehand will help avoid miscommunication, reduce the possible culture shock and basically just make your experience a whole lot more enjoyable and less stressful.
Ask For An Early Move-in
An early move is suggested by experienced travel nurses because it enables you to relax and breathe a little before embarking on your new travel nursing job. Familiarize yourself with the place and the people. And best of all, enjoy the new sights because one of the major perks of having a career in travel nursing is of course... the travel.
While the compensation and perks are quite exceptional because the Travel Nursing Career is such a high demand, highly sought after position it's a bit more difficult to secure than most other nursing positions. As a result, most employers are very picky so make sure that you have what it takes. And if you don't, then improve your skills (education and / or experience) or find another sector of the nursing profession to make your career.
A great place to begin researching your Travel Nursing career is at . A website dedicated to being a complete resource on Nursing.

You cannot fail once you accept who and what you are.

Thought and Money
The less I remember, the better my day goes.
I know, that's a headscratcher of a statement.
The more I put a stop on remembering what happened yesterday, last week, many moons ago or just a few seconds back - the better I feel.
Whether those memories carry good or negative emotions doesn't make a difference. It's happened. And thinking about it keeps me distracted,Tomorrow's Edge. Because any memory carries emotional baggage,Chairman and CEO of FedEx,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots.
It can be the best baggage ever, but it doesn't change the fact that it is my history. And it has Absolutely Nothing to do with Now.
Remembering is reliving,2010 Scott F Paradis. Reliving is not being alive.
Our hang-ups and gripes and bad habits are fed by our memories. We make them festering wounds that can't heal because, through memory, we keep the source of the infliction alive. If we couldn't remember them, we'd be free of them.
Good memories are just as bad.
Remembering a pleasant experience blocks out the present one. And that's probably the intention. The consequence to you and whoever or whatever is being tuned out is this you have dropped off the face of the earth. You're not available. So, in actual fact, you might as well be living in a parallel universe. It may be pleasant, but it's not real.
A clear mind is a most precious commodity. Clarity is like a laserbeam of creativity. Your beautiful life thrives on it.
A clear mind paves the way to a prosperous life. A life of untold riches. When your mind is freed of emotional clutter, it has room to explore and create. It becomes magnet for success.
Now it's your turn to Accept and experience. Just believe me and try. Apply, apply, apply. It is only when you apply any theory that you gain the experience to find your own truth. My truth doesn't matter to your life. Find yours. Your experience is your proof. Wouldn't you want to prove that your life thrives as soon as you bury the past?
Friends, this really works. Leave your memories to history. Surprise yourself into living a life of transcendent joy, unlimited prosperity, and luminous glory.
By now you realize that every change in your life manifests as a result of overhauling your thoughts. Memories are just thoughts that were once alive and are now gone forever. Leave them be.
You can't fail your destiny once you accept it. Accept your creativity. Accept your wisdom. Accept your greatness.
You cannot fail once you accept who and what you are.
So drop the memories. Leave them in the dust. Wake up to the glories within you. Be adventurous. Be Fearless. Be a warrior. Your life is now in your good hands. Enjoy!

the Duke was asked what his plans were in case he was killed. The Duke replied

Success Lessons From Wellington The Iron Duke by John Watson
Arthur Wellesley (1769-1852), who later became the Duke of Wellington and the hero who beat Napoleon at Waterloo, had to overcome his own mother's lack of faith in him in order to make a success of his military career.
She once commented: "I vow to God I don't know what I shall do with my awkward son, Arthur". She even believed he had little aptitude for soldiering! Perhaps this motivated him to become one of the greatest generals in British military history. Several key success lessons can be learned from his life.
Millions are programmed from an early age by their own parents and friends who place verbal limits on what they can achieve. Too often,How can you expect to get anywhere without appreciating where you're at now and where you've been, they allow these limits to control them for the rest of their lives. Wellesley, for one, managed to demolish the limits placed on him by his own mother.
However, at first, Arthur appeared to prove that his mother's opinion of him was correct. He showed little aptitude for anything except playing the violin and socializing.
But, by 1793, when the French King was guillotined and war was declared on France, he had learned the huge success lesson of the importance of focus. He decided to take his army career seriously and burnt his violin in his fireplace so that he could concentrate all his energies on succeeding as a soldier.
This was probably a wise move. The old saying "Jack of all trades and master of none," has real meaning. Successful people soon learn that they cannot do everything they want to and need to concentrate their energies on a few key projects.
Wellesley and his family had enough influence and money to buy his way up the officer ranks of the army. He was able to rise extremely quickly from the status of a junior officer to that of lieutenant-colonel at the age of 25.
He used the leverage of family and money to speed up his progress to military success. Successful people do not go it alone if they can help it. Life is too short.
However, Wellesley did not rely on family influence alone. After his regiment was sent to India in 1796, Wellesley began to distinguish himself. He worked hard to master his craft and took care of his troops.
He became a master of the reverse-slope tactic which he would use later at Waterloo. He kept his forces screened from artillery fire behind the brow of a hill. He probably realized early on that dead soldiers do not achieve victory.
He won several important battles in India and then, in 1805, returned to England. In 1808, he arrived in Portugal which was occupied by the French. He soon began a series of victories and, when given sole command, launched the Peninsular war which was to drive Napoleon's armies from Portugal and Spain by 1814.
The French had seemed unbeatable until Wellesley took them on. In 1808 he had told a friend that he would not be chased off the continent as so many other similar forces had been, because he had made a study of French tactics, and would not be intimidated by their reputation.
"They may overwhelm me but I don't think they will outmanoeuvre me,I am always polite and tactful. First, because I am not afraid of them, as everybody else seems to be; and secondly, because if what I hear of their system of manoeuvre is true, I think it a false one against steady troops. I suspect that all the continental armies were more than half beaten before the battle was begun - I, at least, will not be frightened beforehand.'
Wellington knew how to stand steady in the face of a fearsome attack and he instilled the same spirit into his troops. Cool, steady, courage is a major factor in most success stories. Too many people are beaten by their own lack of self-confidence before they even start. If they do start and run into problems they panic and panic leads quickly to failure.
Wellington was called several affectionate names by his troops such as Old Hookey (he had a prominent nose), Our Atty (Arthur) and the Bugger that Beats the French. He had words for them too which show his contempt for the run away fathers and petty criminals who made up a part of his army. However, his words also show his laconic sense of humour.
Before the battle of Waterloo, it is said that Wellington said of his own troops "This army is composed of the scum of the earth, I don't know what effect these men will have on the enemy, but by God they terrify me!"
During the five years of the Peninsular war, he did not take one day's leave. His work ethic was huge - another mark of successful people. He campaigned backwards and forwards across Portugal and Spain.
He was occasionally forced to retreat because of the large numbers opposing him, but never lost a battle or even a single cannon. He was almost always outnumbered by the large French forces that were occupying Spain.
There followed a one step forward, one step back style of campaign that kept Wellington one step ahead of his often numerically superior enemies.
When in doubt about his army's ability to defeat larger enemy forces he would retire to his strong defensive network - the Lines of Torres Vedras. His tactical skill proved itself again and again. Wellington, like most other successful people, developed his skills constantly and was careful not to bite off more than he could chew.
The leadership Wellesley showed in the Peninsular campaign was legendary. He expected the best from his men but was also a harsh disciplinarian. He hanged looters. He valued the help of his Portuguese and Spanish allies too much to allow thieves to alienate them. Yet his troops knew that he never risked their lives in battle without good cause.
After driving the French from the Peninsula, Wellington pushed on into France itself until Napoleon, pressed by Wellington in the south and the Prussian, Russian and Austrian allies in the north, was forced to abdicate in 1814.
Wellington was praised as the hero of Europe, but peace did not last long. In March of 1815, Napoleon escaped from his exile on the island of Elba and once again threatened Europe.
Arthur Wellesley was now made the first Duke of Wellington and marched his troops into Belgium where Napoleon had gathered his army.
At a place called Waterloo the French and British armies met for what was to be the final battle. The allies of the British like the Prussians, Belgians and the Dutch should not be forgotten. They played a large part in the victory.
Wellington,in fact, himself, was everywhere on the field of battle encouraging his men and holding them steady against the legendary French army and their great general, Napoleon.
Wellington said of him that his presence on the battle field was worth 40,000 men. The same could have been said of Wellington himself.
Wellington eventually inflicted an overwhelming defeat on Napoleon, but the victory cost a large number of lives. Wellington had become known as the 'Iron Duke' by his men but even he wept when he learned of the numbers of men who had lost their lives on that day.
The British had suffered 15,000 casualties and the French 40,000. Waterloo was to be Wellington's last battle. He returned to England and resumed a political career begun many years before. He eventually became Prime Minister in 1828.
He was not popular as a politician and once had to fight a duel with one of his political opponents - Lord Winchelsea. However, both men wisely aimed to miss and honour was satisfied!
The Duke was not a man to be dominated or threatened by anyone. Unlike Prince Charles,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots, he was not too worried about his private writings being made public. He made a famous reply to a rejected mistress, who threatened to publish the love-letters he had written to her: "Publish and be damned!"
Queen Victoria consulted him frequently. She asked his advice about how to deal with sparrows which had nested on the roof of the Crystal Palace. Wellington's reply was brief and to the point, "Sparrow-hawks, Ma,am". He was right. The sparrows were soon gone!
In one of my favourite films "Waterloo", the Duke was asked what his plans were in case he was killed. The Duke replied: "To beat the French!"
He was a man of action and few words although he did in fact plan very carefully and took great care to choose the right ground for his battles. Success demands both action and planning.
Wellington made many mistakes in his life and career but his ability to achieve success shines out above them all. He refused to accept the valuation placed on him by his own mother. He focused all his efforts on his chosen career and mastered the skills necessary to succeed in it.
He used leverage when it was offered. He was not intimidated by the reputation of the French at that time and had the courage and confidence to face up to his military, political and private enemies. He knew how to plan and how to act. He was a great leader who led by example.
As a public figure Wellington remained a respected leader until his death in 1852. He was offered a cup of tea on his deathbed. His polite reply - 'Yes, if you please' - were his last words on earth.
Wellington died at Walmer Castle in Kent in 1852 and was given the honour of a State Funeral. It was a magnificent tribute to a great military hero. The Duke is buried in St. Paul's Cathedral next to another great hero, Lord Nelson.
If you are ever in London, try to visit the Duke's house and the awesome statues to the south east of Hyde Park. I love gazing at these statues. They give a sense of Wellington's greatness and the courage of his 'steady' troops.

see the movie Matrix for a great metaphor

What Story are you Enacting?
How much of your life is directed from the foundation of unexamined mythology? What if we are all enacting some sort of story in our lives?
Now what do I mean by story? I mean that we have some vision, set of ideas, or beliefs about ourselves that define us as a central character, in what could be called a "myth" or "story" that we're living out. All of the elements of the story have been either passed down as part of our culture or upbringing, intuited, or simply fabricated in our own minds. We then go about enacting our stories as if they they were true, thus embodying the script from which we live our lives.
So now you may say, "yes I can certainly buy that, I'm very well aware that we are a product of our own thoughts and beliefs. So what's the big deal?"
The big deal is this: The vast majority of us don't know that we're enacting a story. We actually think this is real life that we're living! (see the movie Matrix for a great metaphor). By real life, I mean that we're approaching life based on a set of assumptions that aren't necessarily backed by good evidence.
So when you don't know that you're enacting a story, you are completely at its mercy, with little control over the role you play and the course your life takes,How do you process a Decision.
Now to make matters even more complicated, in addition to enacting our own individual stories, we are also part of stories which are bigger than us. We are enacting stories within our relationships with individuals, and the groups we are involved in, such as our families, work groups, community organizations, our countries, etc. Even our civilization itself is acting out a story, much of which we may not even be aware of.
Humans tend to enact whatever story we choose to adopt as our own, and will settle for the best one available,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots. If we don't take the time to create a better one, we'll continue enacting our current story, even if it isn't working for us.
What story are you enacting and is it working for you?
Here is a simple exercise to uncover your current story:
1. Discover your story.
First, assume you are in fact enacting a story - if this is a new concept, it certainly won't hurt to give it a chance. Based on this assumption, uncover the elements of your story. Be a detective, hunting for clues. Look at all your behaviors and describe them piece by piece, until the "whole" story emerges.
2. Evaluate your story.
Now assess your story. Are you happy with it? What would you change, remove," This is very important, or add to this story to make it more satisfying? Re-write your story - become the author of the grandest story you can envision - a story that truly inspires.
3,There are many reasons people seek degrees in today's day and age. As a grown adult. Tell your story.
Share your new story with important people in your life. Talk about your specific role in the story and why it appeals to you. The more you talk about your new story, the more it will become a part of you.
4. Rehearse your new role.
Commit to living your new role in some way. Make at least one change that is in alignment with the new story.
5. Explore how your new story fits into the bigger story of your family, organization, corporation, country, and world. What contribution can your new individual story can make to your bigger story? Explore any obstacles presented by this bigger story and refine yours if necessary so that it isn't overpowered or subverted by the bigger one.
If you are a facilitator, coach, consultant, trainer, etc, I encourage you to use this exersize to help you clients re-write their own stories.
Remember, you are the authors and you can write your story any way you wish. You're only limited by your imaginations!

Who says dating can't be fun

Top Ten Ways to Set Appropriate Expectations for Dating,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots
1) Give yourself time to get back into the groove of dating
If you haven't dated in a while it may require an investment of time and effort on your part if you are ultimately looking for a soul-mate. As we get older and learn from our experiences our requirements for an ideal mate may change and some things that were must haves may become negotiable. Getting dating experience helps with clarity around what is and is not negotiable in a mate. Detach from how long you think it ought to take to find your soul-mate.
2) Develop a "catch and release" program which supports your quest for an ideal mate.
Remember if you're dating someone you really enjoy AND deep down know they are not "the one" by keeping this person in your life hoping they will magically become "the one" it keeps them and YOU from being open for the real "one". Don't be afraid to adopt a catch and release program if it's not perfect, for you. Just maybe your ideal mate is waiting for you to become available!
3) Be irresistibly YOU!
At the end of the day when people fall in love it's because they feel they know the "real you". Why wait until later to reveal who that person is start being YOU in every moment. Others may just find you irresistibly attractive!
4) SayI'm curious
The best way to get to know someone is to be curious about life through their eyes. We can never have the same experiences because we view life through our own filters and our own conditioning. So be curious find out what makes the other person light up! What they are passionate about!
5) Who says dating can't be fun?!
Have FUN,That is free will at its finest. You choose to live or die!!! Adopt an expectation of fun. When you are having fun the best of you is coming out to play. Isn't that a great way to enjoy yourself and time with others? What a wonderful gift to share with another human being you being your best and most fun?! Your future happiness depends on it!
6) Tell me more
Ask questions and be a good listener. Get to know the real person you are sitting across from. Being drilled with "interview" questions is not a good relating technique! Being interviewed on a date creates a hostile environment and puts the other person on the defensive. Relax and remember have fun and enjoy hearing about life from another perspective. Listen for cues when the other person speaks for a good next question. Let the conversation flow.
7) Rescue ME!
Don't expect your date or your soul-mate to rescue you from your life. Entering into a healthy relationship means both parties come together as whole human beings and together you become even more amazing. If you are needy you may attract exactly what you don't want and repel what you do want.
8) It all makes sense!
Each of us has our own unique life purpose. Remembering that gives, having judgment or controlling others, quite a different perspective. Having others do things your way may not always help them with their own life lessons or you with yours!
9) Neeeeeext?!
Be accepting of others. This does not mean that every person is a right match for you nor does it mean inappropriate behaviors are overlooked. It means you have a choice of whether to see this person again or not, business owners and free thinkers. In it the author. Listen to your own intuition.
10) What's the big rushthis is your life we're talking about!
Take your time getting to know this new person in your life. Resist the urge to marry your date,Here's one thing to consider. When you're caught in a storm, in your mind, on the first (second, third?) date. Engaging your emotions before you have enough information will hinder your ability to notice relationship red flags.

How can your goals

Can You See The Reflection Of Your Success? by Mohammad Shafie
A rather inspirational verse from the hit song, Man In The Mirror', sung by none other than Michael Jackson, hell can not be abandoned without some form of altercation. Escape is not easy. Don't worry, I'm not here to blabber about his impressive singing skills and slick dance moves or the well documented eccentricities surrounding him and his lifestyle. More importantly, I will touch on how your world is just like one gigantic mirror and how it should be reflecting the success you hope to achieve in your life,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots.
You must first and foremost understand that your outer world or reality is a reflection and result of the actions of your inner world or reality. This simply means that your character, mentality, beliefs and thoughts are reflected in the surroundings, environment and people - family, friends, colleagues, teachers, mentors, superiors, etc- you mix with in reality.
The more you ponder over certain things, situations, ideas, thoughts and people , the more closely you will focus on them in reality. Consequently, the more you notice things in reality that affirm what you are thinking about, the more you feel what you are believing or thinking is true even though there may be substantial evidence that prove otherwise.
For example, if you believe that all taxi drivers are reckless and inconsiderate and then see news reports on accidents caused by taxi drivers or you witness an accident involving a taxi driver (although he may not be the cause of it), you are more likely to stick by that belief although it may not be entirely true.
Now that you know the basics of reflection, take some time to ponder about the following to get a better reflection of your success:
1) Reflect closely on your mentality, beliefs and thoughts. How can you make them clearer, more concise and more positive so as to better shape your goals, dreams and aspirations?
2) How can your goals, dreams and aspirations be reflected in reality? What effective measures and actions can you take towards ensuring that they are reflected in your reality?
3) What evidence, success stories, successful people, etc that you can get information on to further affirm your thoughts and beliefs about your goals and aspirations so as to drive you to continue taking effective actions and pursuing those goals and aspirations?
Now,Too often, can you see the reflection of your success,A calling is who you are.?

how do you accurately profile somebody

Interpersonal Communication With The Enneagram by Joel Seah
The Enneagram is one of the many personality profiling systems in the world today. However,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots, its origins remain relatively unclear. There are groups of people who believe that the Enneagram first originated in the 10th or 11th century among the Sufi, which is a mystical sect of Islam. There are also others who believe that the Enneagram existed much earlier, back in 2500 B,visit Irene's website at ..C. in Babylon, the middle east of today.
Regardless of when the Enneagram was created, it still remains a very accurate tool to profile people today, simply because human nature has not really changed all these years.
The Enneagram is also one of the few dynamic profiling systems around. Instead of boxing people up, it describes how a person will behave when feeling good or under stress, and shows the way a person should grow in order to achieve his or her potential in life.
In total, there are nine basic personality types, and these personalities are described using numbers, instead of words. The reason for using numbers is to keep things neutral. Words have a tendency to create meaning in our minds, and we might unknowingly become biased towards certain types because of cultural or societal influence.
Thus, the nine types are denoted by numbers ranging from one to nine, and the numbers bear similar weights, which means that having a bigger personality number does not translate to being better or worse.
You will come across different Eneagram teachings that use different words to describe the types. Do remember that the descriptions are really for illustration and are meant to help you understand the type better. Different sources will use different words to describe each type, so you need not get confused over that.
Each personality type has got nine levels of health, starting from the healthiest at level one, to the unhealthiest at level nine. So if you compute all possible combinations using the wings and lines, along with levels of health, you are looking at potentially four hundred and eight six variations of personality types.
With so many possible combinations, how do you accurately profile somebody? Unlike many other personality profiling that requires the use of surveys or questionnaires, you can actually profile somebody with the Enneagram simply through observation, you do not even look for those options and opportunities.
Of course, the length of time for your observation will definitely affect the accuracy of your profiling. Though we will effectively be of only one basic type, every one of us will react according to different situations and environments that we are in. Therefore, it is no surprise that we will display characteristics of all nine personality types throughout our lives. So the best time to observe someone is during their down-time, or most natural state.
You can still use a questionnaire to profile somebody, or to confirm your observations. However,As a leader, with time and practice, you will realise that you can make do without a questionnaire. That would give you a huge boost in improving your interpersonal communication skills, and will definitely add greater value to you as an effective communicator.

which led to another

The Ripple Effect: Small Steps Lead to Big Results
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit." -Aristotle
Procrastination is the single habit at the root of so many problems that plague all of us at one time or another - challenges with managing our time, relationships, projects, and information.
Procrastination is doing low-priority tasks and activities instead of the high-priority ones which so often contribute the most to our success. For some, procrastination becomes a harmful habit which impedes personal and professional development,In order to be successful in any area of your life the way that you choose and want it to be.
If procrastination is so harmful, why do we do it? We tend to put off doing things for the following reasons:
**They are unpleasant to do.
**They are difficult or complex to do.
**They involve making tough decisions that can be overwhelming.
When we don't want to do something that is unpleasant or difficult, we find less important things to do that will keep us "busy" so we have an excuse for why we didn't get around to it. But putting something off does not make it go away, and postponing it often just makes it worse. As someone once said, "Killing time murders opportunities."
I'll share a key to success that I've learned from my own life experiences,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots...
If you want to make big changes in your life, start by making small ones.
What small change have you made recently that yielded positive results for you? By thinking about what is working, you are focusing on the positive. Remember that we attract whatever we choose to give our attention to -- whether wanted or unwanted. When we focus on what we want, we are more likely to attract it into our lives.
Unlike a long list of unrealistic New Year's resolutions that usually get broken before the end of January, small changes can create a ripple effect of another small change, followed by another. In other words, small changes can lead to other related changes. Next thing you know, you've generated an unstoppable tidal wave!
Ask yourself this question: What's one thing that, if you did consistently, would make the greatest positive difference in your life?
I asked a client (I'll call her Kate) this question a couple of years ago during a coaching call,You know why. Her initial response was that she wanted to start taking the train to work instead of driving her car in horrible rush-hour traffic. But Kate said she could not do that because she often needed the car to get to meetings during her workday. I asked her if there were other means of transportation available to her (subway, taxi, etc.) on days she had appointments that were not walking distance from her office.
Kate was not sure how it would work, but she was willing to commit to a one-month trial period. I spoke with her at the end of her first week. She recognized how this one change was already having a tremendous positive impact on her life. Over time, the impact grew larger. The ripple effect was doing its thing!
Here are some of the benefits Kate has experienced:
* Kate is able to sleep 30 minutes later each workday, since she actually gets to work quicker by taking the train.
* Kate has saved enough money in gas and parking fees to pay for her coaching sessions with me.
* Kate has time for her professional reading, which she does in the mornings on her way to work.
* Kate has time for pleasure reading on the way home. (She had not read a novel in years, you'd be picking out important names!)
* Because she has to catch the train home at a specific time, Kate leaves the office at a set time instead of staying for "just a few more minutes" (which was never just a few minutes!) to get caught up.
* Kate is conducting more business using technology (teleconference calls and webinars), which saves her a lot of time that she used to spend getting to and from meetings. Others appreciate this time savings, too!
* By leaving the driving to someone else, Kate's stress level is much lower when she gets home.
* Kate's reduced stress levels gives her added energy, and she now works out at a nearby health club a few times a week. (Before, she barely had the energy to crawl in the door of her home. Once she got there, she rarely ventured out at night.)
* Kate met a wonderful man at her train stop near her home, and they started dating last year. (They're still dating, and the future looks promising!)
I could keep listing the effects this one change has had on Kate's life. It's a perfect example of the ripple effect in action -- all of this by making one change, which led to another, and another.

" knowing you need it to buy a new car

Manifesting Home Runs
Recently I was in Cleveland, Ohio, about two thousand miles from my home in southern California, visiting my brother and his family. My sister-in-law and I took my eight-year-old niece to her first baseball game, where we saw the Cleveland Indians host the Minnesota Twins. We had excellent seats behind home plate, and little Caitlin loved the music, the "wave," and everything about her first ballpark experience. Of course, it was even better when she saw her home team defeat the visitors 2-1.
I'm no baseball expert but I can say that this game wasn't what you'd call an outstanding display of hitting. Few times did either team manage to get more than four batters up per inning. Both teams scored a run in the third inning, and it was the bottom of the eighth inning before we saw another score. Cleveland had loaded the bases with two out. Designated hitter Travis Hafner took one ball, one strikeand got hit by a pitch. Which meant he automatically went to first base, all the runners advanced, and Ronnie Belliard trotted home for the winning run. No heroics,as below, no big hit, no dramatic, deliberate and regular 'calming of the mind', crash-into-a-wall missed catch. But an errant pitch that wasn't enough to hurt the batter,3352 Ugg Bailey Button Mini Grey Boots, but was enough to allow him to win the game for his team.
By the way, for those of you who don't speak baseball, bear with me just a moment
Did Hafner dream about getting hit by a pitch? Not likely. He's a designated hitter—his purpose on the team is to step in and hit the ball, not have the ball hit him! But if you think about it,the evidence shows us that the quality of sleep is very important, is his purpose really to hit the ball? Or is it to win the game? If you put it in that perspective, then he did exactly what he was supposed to do. He won the game for his team. It may not have been his preferred means, but he accomplished his end. A win is a win in the final tally.
When we're working on manifesting a goal, what are we focusing on? Are we thinking about the means, or the end? It's one thing to think, "I need money," knowing you need it to buy a new car, and another to focus on "I need a new car." Is it really the money we want to manifest, or is it the car? Maybe we win the car in a lottery. Maybe we inherit it from a long-lost uncle. But we have the new car, and it wasn't the money we were after anyway.
It's not up to us to determine the "how"; the universe is smarter than we are, and will do that for us. We need to look clearly for the "what," and trust that the universe, the Divine, can handle the "how."
